My baby is now 4 months old and 17lbs., too heavy for my wife to carry in a infant car seat. Looking for a long term option with the most flexibility I came across this car seat, ‘Evenflo 3121871 Black Symphony Convertible Baby Car Seat’.
This car seat sits rear facing until your child is big enough to face forward, which you just readjust it to forward facing. When your child gets even bigger you start removing some of the padding until you have a booster seat.
My baby is doing fine in it so far, she sits securely in the car seat without complaining. Buckling her up is simple and the latches are easy to adjust for different sizes. For instance the shoulder straps move up and down by pulling on them, you don’t have to disassemble them and reinsert them in a new position.
Adjusting the chest harness is easy, just pull on the strap below, to loosen there’s a button which releases it.
The car seat is very adjustable from the head rest to the base tilt. All levers and latches are clearly marked in RED and it fits vehicles of all ages. I have an older car so I don’t use the Surelatch system which is for newer vehicles.
Overall I’m extremely impressed with the ease of installation and how fast you can convert it to a toddler seat and lastly a booster seat.
The insert for infant is not covered in flowers like previous reviewer wrote. The removeable infant inserts do however come in a tone-on-tone paisely design. This carseat is a great buy, will last you for years and very easy to use. We have it in a G6 though, and in the rear facing position it does take up a bit of space. As do most car seats so this is something we are willing to overlook. Overall, very pleased with it.
After some research I bought this car seat for my baby. The product is very strong, very secure and it looks so comfortable that I even want to use it. The first time the baby used it he fall asleep although it wasn’t his time. One of the first things I was looking for was the side impact security system that this seat has. I found many product at the stores that claim to have this system, but if you touch those car seats it seems that the baby it’s going to get more harm with them. This chair is easy to use, it grows with your baby, and I like that it can be converted in a booster seat. This is our second car seat, we had another brand and it was smaller. We are really happy with it and it looks that the baby is really really safe.
